I have just learned of CJ's passing. I knew Cindy Joy in college at JMU. We were pretty good friends, in fact. We lived together one summer at the end of our studies. She had enrolled in a dance class (she needed the last few credits to graduate). I remember her joy at discovering many different types of dance, in fact, I think she was most excited about the ballroom dancing. Anyway, I first heard Billy Holliday in her room on her stereo. Some time after we left JMU she came to visit me in Colorado where I had moved. We went to a Red Rocks show together. We lost touch after that but I have thought of her often over the years. I decided to look her up on FB and came to find out that she had died. My impression is that she died of breast cancer but I'm not totally sure as the obituary is not clear on her cause of death. I am so saddened to hear of CJ's having left this earth. I hope that she is dancing somewhere out there. Peace to all who knew Cindy Joy Dorgeloh.
