My time with CJ was relatively short compared to others who have written here. But I think of her often because I believe our meeting was divinely orchestrated. How else can you explain us meeting in a state that wasn't associated with our homes. (See my previous story). And finding out that she was the granddaughter of the only woman I would remember from my early church, who sat next to me in Choir, and whom I visited at her home several times. I often share this story of us synchronistic meeting and am sad when I think about CJ's short life. I believe our meeting was no accident. I wish we had more time.

CJ was my doubles partner in Atlanta for years. With her left handedness and quick feet and my right handedness and graceless effort, we were a tough team. She was the most fun to play with, and the best person to have as a friend.
CJ's freaky talent was making the sounds of different fizzy beverages being opened, and the last time I saw her, she was working on her tennis-ball can opening sound.
I miss her and think about her all the time.

Thank you for setting this up, Jennifer. I have been riding my bike a lot during the pandemic. One route takes me through a corner of Piedmont Park. I never enter the park without remembering the puppy shower you held for CJ in the park, and what a beautiful day it was, and how much we all laughed. She was a great model for me in learning how to navigate through life. I look forward to seeing her again. Will T.
